By downloading, installing, or using Sidereal ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Description of Service
Sidereal is a mobile application designed for astrophotography planning and assistance. The App provides:
- Astronomical calculations (sun, moon, planets, Milky Way visibility)
- Weather forecasts for stargazing
- Exposure calculator for astrophotography
- Equipment management (Gear Locker)
- Interval timer with alerts
- Compass and location-based features
License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Not interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Maintain the security of your device
Accuracy of Information
Weather and Astronomical Data
- Weather forecasts are provided by third-party services and may not be 100% accurate
- Astronomical calculations are estimates and may vary based on atmospheric conditions
- We are not responsible for inaccurate forecasts or missed stargazing opportunities
Exposure Calculator
- Exposure recommendations are estimates based on general guidelines
- Results may vary based on specific equipment, conditions, and subject matter
- Users should verify settings before capturing important images
Pro Version and In-App Purchases
Purchase Terms
- Pro version is a one-time purchase unlocking premium features
- Purchases are processed through Google Play Store
- All sales are final and non-refundable except as required by law
- Features included in Pro version are subject to change
Pro Features
Current Pro features include (but are not limited to):
- Weather alerts and notifications
- Sky Planner with location simulation
- NPF Rule calculator
- Ad-free experience
Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect existing purchases.
Compass Feature
The compass feature relies on your device's magnetometer. Accuracy may be affected by:
- Magnetic interference
- Device calibration
- Environmental factors
Always verify direction with traditional navigation methods when safety is critical.
Location Services
The App requests location access to:
- Calculate local astronomical events
- Provide relevant weather forecasts
- Enable compass functionality
- Support Sky Planner features (Pro)
You can disable location access, but some features may not function properly.
Intellectual Property
Ownership
All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by Orbital Apps and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Trademarks
"Sidereal" and associated logos are trademarks of Orbital Apps. You may not use these marks without prior written permission.
User Content
Equipment data and checklist items you create remain your property. By using the App, you grant us a license to store and process this data to provide App functionality.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information provided by the App.

Limitation of Liability

- Lost profits, data, or opportunities

Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Orbital Apps from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms

- Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of changes

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
